Where the numbers come from

Our directory is refreshed every day with openings from flight schools, drop zones, survey and pipeline-patrol operators, banner-tow companies and Part 135 cargo carriers. For each listing we compare its stated hour minimum and required certificates with what you entered — the same check behind the badges our subscribers see. Treat the totals as a guide; each listing spells out its exact requirements.

Frequently asked questions

Which pilot jobs can I apply for with my hours?+

That comes down to your total time and the certificates and ratings on your license. Enter both above and the checker tallies how many listings in our directory you already meet, and how many more you'd meet with another 250 hours.

What's a typical minimum for a first pilot job?+

Plenty of first jobs — instructing, jump flying, banner towing and some survey work — take commercial pilots with roughly 200 to 500 hours. Every employer sets its own number based on the aircraft and its insurer, and the checker uses the minimums posted on current listings.

Are these real openings?+

Yes — the totals come from the listings in the USA Pilot Jobs directory. Seeing the jobs themselves, with pay, requirements and links to apply, takes a subscription. Running the checker doesn't.

How do you decide if I qualify?+

We check your total time against the minimum hours each listing states, then confirm you hold every certificate and rating it lists. Subscribers see the same result as a badge on each job.

Does the checker cost anything?+

No. It's free and you don't need an account. A subscription opens up the listings and emails you when new jobs match your logbook.
