Tips for a resume that gets read
Chief pilots and recruiters look for your hours first, so put a flight-time summary at the top — total, PIC, multi-engine, cross-country, instrument and night — followed by your certificates and ratings. Keep everything on one page, write experience as short, concrete bullet points, and list the flying most relevant to the job before anything else.
Frequently asked questions
Does the resume builder cost anything?+
No. Creating your resume and saving it as a PDF is free, with no payment or account needed. If you'd like to come back and edit it later, a free account keeps a copy for you.
How do I get my resume as a PDF?+
Select Download PDF and your browser's print window opens. Set the destination to 'Save as PDF', leave margins on Default, and you'll get a single, clean page.
Do I have to sign up?+
Only if you want to save it. While you work, everything stays in your browser. An account just lets you reopen and edit the resume later or on another device.
What belongs on a resume for a newer pilot?+
One page with your contact details, a flight-time summary (total, PIC, multi-engine, cross-country, instrument and night), your certificates and ratings, education, relevant work or volunteer experience, and any awards. Resist the urge to run onto a second page.
